History
Background
Meridian Charter High School resulted from three years of study and exploration
by the "Committee for More Choice in the Meridian
Joint School District" into how to create educational innovation within
the District. The Committee was made up of local business leaders and educators.
In 2006, the name was changed to Meridian Technical Charter High School.
Purpose
The purpose of Meridian Technical Charter High School is to expand the academic choices
available to students who are interested in the technology field. This school
offers an environment rich in technology, giving students experience using
technology applications in the school and in the workplace. MTCHS hopes to give
all students a chance to advance their technology skills. The
technology pathways offered are programming,
media arts, networking, and electronics/pre-engineering. The purpose of these classes is to show the students what that
field looks like in the real world. We offer college
classes, for college credits. This school requires
seniors to do 280 hours of internships
with Treasure Valley businesses.
