Last month, National Honor Society was pleased to present a check in the amount of $578.50 to Palina Louangketh, founder of the Idaho Museum of International Diaspora.
In the Spring of this year, NHS member Teresa Fong presented information about the creation of this unique museum to her fellow Honor Society members. This will be one of the only museums in the world to focus on a variety of cultural and ethnic groups and their journey from their homelands. The museum is in its infancy, and funds are needed for land and a building. NHS students decided to help out and began a series of fundraisers at the school, holding a bake sale, selling ice cream, hosting a movie night, and sponsoring a hat day at the school.
All the best wishes to Palina as she pursues her dream of bringing the story of diaspora in Idaho to life!
