Our Veterans Day assembly wasn`t the only exciting event to happen on Monday! We had a power outage just before lunchtime. A power outage in a school that relies heavily on tech means a lot of gears had to be shifted. Emergency back-up lights were on, but the cloudy day outside didn`t let in a lot of additional light! Kudos to quick-thinking teachers who took lessons outside, took students for walks, and adapted work done on laptops into lectures and q & a sessions. It seemed like the students enjoyed the novelty, there was a collective groan heard when the power was restored after about an hour!...
Today we had our annual Veterans Day Assembly, where we have the privilege of thanking the veterans and active duty members in our MTCHS community. Thank you so much for the family members who have served our country and were able to attend today. We had representatives of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines! We are so grateful for your sacrifice and service. Happy Veterans Day. #mtchsidaho #natstuco #VeteransDay #thankyouforyourservice #mtchsevent...

The Mock Election generated a lot of enthusiasm from the student body. There was a long line in Haley Hall at lunchtime as students waited with their IDs to get their ballot. Idaho`s Proposition One, along with four fake propositions the Government classes discussed, the proposed Idaho Constitutional Amendment and Idaho`s 1st Congressional District Seat candidates and the United States Presidential candidates were all items on the ballot. The votes were carefully tallied by the last period Government Class and announced just before class was over. There were actually cheers coming from the classrooms as the results came through! We hope you have a chance to ask your student what they thought about the process! Now get out there and vote! #mtchsidaho...
